Green Blue

Is it possible for my child to have green or blue eyes?
On my side of the family I have family with green and blue eyes, light skin (my grandma and great grandma had the colored eyes). On my boyfriends side he has strictly dark brown/black eyes light and dark skin. I myself have light honey colored eyes, he has dark brown eyes. Do you think its possible for our child to have green, blue or even hazel colored eyes?
The statement of brown being a homozygous thing is a little misleading. Pigmentation is a little more complicated as it is determined by the amount of melanin present.
Skin color is controlled by more than 2 genes, exactly how many is not clear…but at least 6 have been identified. Which ones are active and how close they are determines how much pigment is manufactured in our skin and how it is distributed resulting in the rainbow of skin colors out there.
Why is this important to eye color? Because there appears to be more than 2 genes involved in determining how much pigment is in the iris stroma (the primary area where our eye color is formed). The darker the eye color, the more melanin (pigment) that is present. There is NO green pigmentation. Green comes from hazel spots over a blue background which mix to make the green hue.
If you have genes for green and blue, than it is possible though more unlikely for you to have a child with ligher colored eyes. Blue is likely not going to occur. If his family is pretty much brown/black eyed, the lightest color you may have will likely be hazel.
In my family, my mom has green eyes, my father has brown (but with a lot of scottish ancestry so some in his family have lighter eyes as well). The result is they had 3 daughters with green, blue, and brown eyes in order of birth.
